Appraisals
During this initial consultation, I should be able to determine on the spot if your jewelry item contains genuine gemstones or precious metals, or if it is costume jewelry. This appointment is for visual detection and not a value assessment or appraisal. If optical testing is required to confirm the materials, there may be an additional fee of up to $75. Should a formal appraisal be needed, you would need to leave the earring with me.
David Conger will test your gold and make an offer to purchase it.
This appointment is for those who have items to be appraised and wish to drop them off. It is not an appointment to appraise the jewellery. The appraisal will be scheduled, and a pickup time will be arranged during this visit. There is a fee which will be discussed when dropping off the jewellery.
Appraise 1 item of jewellery for insurance purposes. This is a full analysis and documentation, including photographs. You will receive a written appraisal of your item, accepted by all insurance companies in the Ottawa area. David Conger is a GIA Graduate Gemologist (earned in residence) with 40 years of appraising experience. He does the work on-site. This is a drop-off and pick-up service (see note below about the option of being present during the appraisal process). You will meet with Mr Conger to drop items off and then need to return at the end of the appointment to pick the items up with the appraisal reports. At that time, we will discuss our evaluation with you. Note: We do not appraise watches, ivory, jade or unpolished gems and minerals. If you have any further questions, please get in touch with us.

Separate costume jewellery from fine jewellery. One hour is $175, plus tax.
David Conger (GIA Graduate Gemologist) will examine and determine the identity of one gemstone using accepted gemological testing equipment. Note: we do not off testing on uncut gems.
Design
Meet with Dave Conger to discuss a jewellery design or redesign. We will discuss the process and timeframe and some design ideas. The time can also be used to review a design mockup before it is finalized.
This is a short visit to review the mockup of the ring or jewellery about to be made. It often takes just a few minutes. If the model is okay, the next step is to finish up the jewellery being made.
Repair
This service is for our clients who have purchased a ring. We offer an annual complimentary checkup in the ring to look for issues pertaining to wear. Advancing wear is a primary cause of stone loss. This is not a substitute for insurance and is not a guarantee against future loss.
This is an appointment to drop your jewellery off for repair. Unfortunately, we are unable to do repairs on watches or costume jewellery. Our minimum repair price is $50. Estimates are free.
Meet with Dave Conger to have your finger sized and to drop off your ring(s) for re-sizing. Prices are determined after the sizing requirements are understood. Prices start at $95 / ring for yellow gold (sizing down). White gold and platinum are more expensive.
